Our bedroom makeover is practically done! Jake & I wanted to find ways to make our smaller, master bedroom more functional for us. We plan to close off our closet in 2025 and turn it into a coffee bar…stay tuned. So, we made some changes in here to prep for that!
Wardrobes
We started by installing some built-in wardrobes in here to give use to the small, unused space under the soffit in here. You can see how we did it here in this blog post!
New Lighting
We updated our lighting in here and I love it! We had 3 glass lights in here and we’d already had to replace them twice since a couple of them have fallen and broken. I didn’t love the idea of those falling on us in our sleep….I LOVE our new light!
Floating Nightstands
We needed nightstands in here that didn’t take up a ton of room. So, we installed these floating nightstands from Nathan James and they fit perfectly between the wardrobes and the bed.
Updated Window
These very old windows needed some love. I added some trim around the windows and then installed some window panes that gave them a completely custom and updated look. I added some curtains and roman shades as well! See how I did it in this blog post.
A New Mattress
Then, Jake and I finally got a new mattress! We ended up going with an adaptive mattress that has a split-head feature so one of us can sit up in bed. We definitely want to have more babies so this mattress will be perfect for when I have to be up at night nursing.
I love how this space is turning out. Next up, I’m demoing the door to our current closet to prep for our coffee bar makeover! Stay tuned in my stories!
