We're so glad you're here! We've been transforming spaces together for the past five years and slowly renovating our own 1950's home. Join us as we create a home we love!

Hi, we're Jake and Sarah

5% Saturday! Here we go!

1. Installing toekicks

Today we finally got around to installing toekicks! It makes a huge difference. It covers up seams and makes things look finished.

We first tried ripping the pieces down, but this method didn’t quite work. Because of the structure of the bottom of the cabinets, we needed to cut out little notches for the toe kicks to fit in properly. We traced our cuts and used our jigsaw to notch them out. We used liquid nails to secure them in place and pushed some heavy objects against it until dry.

You can find our kitchen tiles here.

2. Touch up paint on door track

There was a little bit of wear on our door track. Did you know you can use spray paint and a brush for touch ups? Just work fast!

3. Fertilizing citrus tree

Jake has been working on getting our citrus trees healthy again.

We fertilized our tree in our front yard using this garden drill bit. Instead of digging by hand, using a drill is much more efficient. Then, you just plop the fertilizer in the holes!

Also Jake got me these slides for my birthday. But also I’m supposed to tell you to wear close-toed shoes while working with a drill 😉

See you next Saturday!
