We're so glad you're here! We've been transforming spaces together for the past five years and slowly renovating our own 1950's home. Join us as we create a home we love!

Hi, we're Jake and Sarah

I’m actually in Ireland right now…but I prerecorded 5% Saturday because I’m fully committed!

Today we’re hanging bathroom fixtures. We currently have no where to hang towels or toilet paper. Haha. Let’s go!

This bathroom is tiny so it’s a bit awkward trying to place these fixtures. I think I need to hang towel bars pretty close to the ceiling because I simply have no other option.

These fixtures are perfect. I love the polished nickel finish. I think they look both funky and classic!

The first step is to drill holes in the wall. You want to find a bit that’s about the same size or maybe just a little smaller than the anchor. To be clear – normally after drilling holes, I’d insert the anchors with a hammer and then add the brackets. Because I hit studs, I didn’t need the anchors! Here’s the drill we used.

This ratchet screwdriver is the best! If you DIY often, I highly recommend..it does the hard part for you.

With these fixtures, there’s a tiny little hex key and a hidden screw that’s super easy to work with. With the toilet paper holder and towel bar, make sure both posts are level too so you don’t end up with a crooked fixture.

We decided to hang two towel bars since our bathroom is so small. This helped us maximize our space. Then, I didn’t want the towel hooks to cover any outlets as a safety precaution. I love the hook and faucet combo we have going on here!

Don’t worry – we’ll make sure to complete the door trim on another 5% Saturday 😉
