I’m calling this project the Coastal Cool Guest Room makeover! A little story behind this room. The mom is expecting and her parents will travel all the way from India to visit the new baby. Getting the room ready for their arrival hopefully at the end of this year! I can’t believe grandparents from halfway around the world will stay here. So special to me!
This project has two portions: main bedroom and built in desk/ vanity. I started with the bedroom.
Wall Treatment
I’m using Roman Clay on the walls in here. I love the soft blush undertones in this roman clay. The color is Lynx by Portola Paints. You can apply Roman Clay to both smooth and textured walls. I used a 6″ metal joint knife and made sure to tape the wall for a crisp edge. I applied 2 coats! Roman clay adds so much depth and texture to a room. Since this is a bedroom, we don’t have to seal it like we would a bathroom or a kitchen.
Prints
I love the prints we used! I love purchasing downloadable prints from Etsy. You can resize them for any size frame. I love the quality of the metal frames we chose. Etsy has lots of maps for download that are very inexpensive. The map I used for this project was 25 cents to print at Staples. Try searching your city name and then “digital download.”
Lighting
The sconces we ordered can be plugged in or hardwired. They are 2 for $99!
