Last week for 5% Saturday, I swapped out a very old door knob for these levers and deadbolt from Kwikset. We’ve used these modern door handles all around our home for the last 4 years, and we really love the sleek and modern look and feel! It only took me about 15 minutes to take out the old doorknob and install the new one. This is a beginner-friendly DIY that can make a huge impact, without spending a lot of money or time!
The modern door handles come in the following options:
passage – think a door into a pantry or hallway, no lock option
dummy – a door that you pull to open, so the lever doesn’t actually move
privacy – a door with a lock but no key (think a bedroom or bathroom)
keyed entry – a door with a lock and a key (an exterior door, like the one in our pool bath here!)
Down the road, we’d love to upgrade all the door knobs in the house to brass (I really think brass up against the navy is a match made in Heaven.) But for now, as we’re working on this bathroom on a budget, these made for a great inexpensive upgrade!
