Our yard has stumped me for a long time. We’ve done a lot of work on the pool side, but the majority of our yard is just full of weeds. I have honestly felt pretty overwhelmed by it for a long time. Give me any indoor space, and I’ll come up with a design in no time. But exterior spaces are just a different ballgame – I knew I could use some professional help. Cue Yardzen.
I’ve stalked Yardzen‘s Instagram account for a long time. I’ve always thought of them as THE e-design company for the modern backyard…and they did not disappoint. I think my jaw dropped when I got these plans back!
The process is fairly simple. We basically just had to upload a dozen images or so of our yard, share a few inspiration images, and send videos of each section of the yard. They also included the front yard design, but I didn’t add that here for privacy reasons. From there, you can ask for revisions. They include CAD files and a detailed list of materials and plants you’ll need, and then they connect you with contractors in your area once you approve the design.
This post isn’t sponsored, but I do have a link that will take $100 off your Yardzen design: here.
There are a few things I’m thinking about tweaking – like doing a deck instead of a tiled patio, and maybe a workshop on the hill instead of a swing set. I’m not sure we’ll have the budget for a built-in jacuzzi and an outdoor kitchen. But overall, I feel like we have clear direction now for the yard – and direction is the most important element for making progress! We just planted our little 4 foot Indian Laurels so this hedge can start to grow. Honestly, I smile every time I look out the window!
