My front door has looked like this since we moved in – it’s just been primed. It needs some front door paint! This will be a simple makeover with a huge impact. I want to add some depth with the color – there’s too much white right now.
Paint Color
I used the color “Shadow Taupe” by Behr.
I’m using cabinet, door, and trim enamel paint in satin with a quarter inch nap roller. I put the first coat on and let it dry over night. Then, I used 400 grit sandpaper before starting my second coat just to knock down any uneven spots on the paint. I painted 3 coats total.
Eufy
The finishing touch was our new Eufy Security Camera. It’s 4k and there’s no monthly fee! Also, it’s solar powered…that’s cool. Even if it doesn’t have direct sunlight, you can charge with with a USB-C portal and that charge lasts 365 days. I see so many ads for security systems that are pretty expensive on a monthly basis. With this system, you buy it and that’s it. There’s no monthly fee. Your data doesn’t go out to anyone else either. We put it right in the corner by our front door!
I’m so happy with this front door paint mini makeover! This tiny change had a huge impact. I love it!

The exterior of our home has come such a long way since we moved in. Check out this curb appeal project we did. We added a drip irrigation system to our front yard and a ton of olive tree plants. The before and after is amazing!
